A Great Story in the Making

The benefit of hindsight is a good benefit because it gives us the whole picture. Reality, however, is that we have to live in the now and get the benefit of hindsight later. That's the problem. The circumstances of the now may not always look all figured out and sometimes even deviate from our dreams of the future.

Here's where the Scriptures come in. The Bible gives us hindsight wisdom with many practical examples that we can trust God with the pieces of the now, and that it will all make sense at the end.

"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." (Romans 15:4)

Just imagine what Joseph will be thinking at the point where he was thrown into a pit and later sold as a slave. Space will not permit us to talk about Abraham, David, etc. Their stories only made sense at the end. This proves the point that in God's own time He puts all the pieces together into a beautiful story.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

The most important thing is that we love the Lord and keep walking in His ways.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

Let's then trust God a day at a time, a moment at a time, and a circumstance at a time, knowing well that it will all end in a beautiful story.
