Humility Before God

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." (James 4:10)

Genuine humility is humility before the Lord. The truly humble man has God as the motivation behind his virtue, for he humbles himself not because of the status of the people he interacts with, nor does he expect the reward of his humility from men but from God who exalts the humble.

Since God is a constant factor in his life, his humble disposition is consistent and genuine, irrespective of his location and company.

Fake humility is tantamount to ugly pride.

C. S. Lewis once said, "As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down you cannot see something that is above you."

Do you humble yourself only when you come into contact with people you consider more powerful than you or you humble yourself before the Lord which affects your attitude towards all manner nd classes of people in the society?

Remember that it is the Lord who lifts us up when we humble ourselves before Him.

Remain inspired!
