Your Association Determines Your Direction

"I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people." (1 Corinthians 5:9‭, ‬11)

Believe it or not, you are the way you are because of the kind of people you have associated with. Peer influence is so powerful you can hardly avoid its impact on your life.

Your worldview is continuously shaped by the frequent conversations you have. Your principles are bound to be influenced by the principles of the people you spend most of your time with.

It's important to be aware of this because if we deliberately look out for and associate with the right people, our destiny will be secure.

When God wants to bless you, He sends people into your life. Similarly, when the devil wants to destroy you, he also sends people into your life. This is because your association determines your direction in life.

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night." (Psalms 1:1-2)
