God Chooses the Weak

"Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are." (1 Corinthians 1:26‭-‬28)

God specializes in turning hopeless people with hopeless circumstances into champions.

The message of the cross itself is such that humble people and those of lowly background more easily embrace it. Pompous people are automatically cut off by their pride. Therefore no one through their human wisdom and status in life can achieve intimacy with God.

"For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe." (1 Corinthians 1:21)

Why has God done this? So that we may know that it is by His sheer grace that we are saved and not by our so-called achievements or status in life. So that we may not boast in ourselves but rather boast in Him.

"So that no one may boast before him." (1 Corinthians 1:29)

Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:31)

If you feel broken and weak in life, if you feel dejected and unworthy, I beseech you to come before the God of grace who is the expert in transforming the broken and weak things of this life to His glory.

Remain inspired!
