A call to Purity

"Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18)

The range of sexual perversion is practically endless in our day. From sex before and outside marriage to sexual relations with the same sex and even animals, our world keeps sinking deeper into the abyss of immorality.

As immortality becomes normal, we lose touch with the voice of our conscience and the Holy Spirit's promptings fall on hardened and deafened ears. At this point, we rationalize our sins and excuse ourselves with the anti-biblical philosophies of this world.

We can't help it because we have fallen too deep and to make matters worse, "everyone" seems to be doing it. Our only hope is to find our way back to the only time-tested, universal life guide for humanity which is God's word.

"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word." (Psalm 119:9)

The Bible teaches us to avoid sexual immorality both for our spiritual and physical wellbeing. A call to purity is a call to our spiritual sanctity and moral dignity. May the Lord help us to stay pure as we remain His bride and His temple.

"It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable." (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4)
