Don't Run Ahead of God


"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time." (1 Peter 5:6)


God has a plan for you which will surely come to pass so long as you remain faithful and obedient to His word.


"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)


Sometimes, we miss God's plan when we try to get ahead of God and do things in our own way contrary to His word.


Gehazi may have become the next great Prophet after Elisha if he had not coveted material things at the wrong time. Judas Iscariot would have kept his place among the twelve Apostles if he had not been misled by his greed.


Be careful that ungodly ambitions and unhealthy competition do not drive you ahead of God. For the best place to be is to always be in the will of God. 


The will of God goes in tandem with God's timing. By humility and obedience, we shall never miss God's perfect plan for our lives.

The current global standard for the measurement of dates is known as the Gregorian calendar, named after Pope Gregory XIII, under whose tenure it was instituted. Take Your Stand

"Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand." (1 Corinthians 15:1) In our postmodern world today which is heavily plagued with secular humanism, new age philosophies and religious pluralism, not a few Christians are shying away from standing up for what they believe, or, perhaps I should say that they are losing their belief in what they used to stand for. According to findings published on evidenceandanswers.org, "53 percent of adults in church believe there is no absolute truth. Among youth in church, research shows that 57 percent do not believe an objective standard of truth exists." This is a frightening development indeed. But we must not be surprised as this is the direct fulfillment of Scripture.
