The God of Destiny

"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." (Proverbs 19:21)

The Living Bible renders the above verse as follows:

"Man proposes, but God disposes."

When we realize that God reigns in the affairs of men, and that it is His purpose that prevails, we will more eagerly court His favor rather than that of men.

On this very day in 1964, Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life in prison in South Africa. The prevailing judicial system at the time adjudged him as deserving to spend the rest of his life in prison. Eventually, he spent 27 years in prison.

Fast forward, on 10th May 1994, Nelson Mandela, the man who had been condemned to a lifetime in prison, was sworn in as South Africa's first black president. From a condemned prisoner to the first gentleman of the land! This is a contemporary testimony to prove that your destiny is not in the hands of men but God.

Don't be utterly discouraged about men's shattering verdict concerning your life if you fall in the plan of God. When the opinion of men runs contrary to God's opinion, stay put and remain on God’s side. Allow them to propose. In His own way and at His own time, God will dispose of all false verdicts and vindicate His faithful servants.

Remain inspired!
