Reformational Failure

There are two types of failure - reformational and deformational, thus, one that reforms and one that deforms. The dividing line is usually one's attitude towards failure.

In biblical records, at least two of Jesus' twelve disciples betrayed Him big time - Peter and Judas. Jesus predicted both situations but they still fell into their respective traps. They both regretted their actions but their attitude towards their failure differed.

Peter, after lamenting over his debacle, learnt his lessons, put himself together and moved on with his relationship with Jesus. Judas on the other hand, could hardly get over his misdeed. He could not forgive himself. Instead, he condemned himself to death, taking his own life.

When you read the book of Acts and get impressed with the great works of Apostle Peter, you are seeing reformational failure at work.

Dear friend, if failure breaks down your door, build another one and keep on going. Be determined to keep up your walk with the Lord Jesus and let failure reform rather than deform you.

"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me." (Micah 7:8)
