Judas' Kiss

One day, as I flipped through my bible, I saw a phrase which immediately caught my attention. The phrase was "Judas' Kiss". At once, I began to recollect and meditate upon the fact of Jesus' betrayal. How could a great man of such irresistible influence and impeccable integrity be betrayed by his own friend?

This makes me know that greatness does not preclude mistreatment. Ultimately, the master was humiliated, tortured, stripped and crucified by cruel men. What should strike us the most is how Jesus reacts to mistreatment.

How do we also react when we are treated badly by others? The Saviour's attitude was calm and unrevengeful. Retaliating to mistreatment will make you equal to those who mistreat you, as far as character quality is concerned. You shall stay above offenders if you refuse to keep grudges against them.

Judas was Jesus' friend before he betrayed Him, and at the point of betrayal, Jesus still referred to Judas as friend. Offences can pollute our spirit if we permit them, and eventually, they will affect our thoughts and misdirect our deeds.

Jesus teaches us with His actions that overcoming evil with good is the best form of defence.
