The study, conducted over a twenty-year period, reported in a recent issue of the Journal of Marriage and the Family that virgin brides were less likely to end their marriage through divorce or separation than women who had not been virgins at marriage. How much less likely? The results are astonishing. Non-virgins have a divorce rate 53 percent to 71 percent higher than do virgins.
