BE STRONG AGAINST OPPOSITION
BE STRONG AGAINST OPPOSITION
Nehemiah 4
In Nehemiah 4, we see an interesting narration of how Nehemiah who had a burning and divine desire to do the work of God by rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem was cruelly and bitterly opposed.
This is a great revelation of what happens spiritually in the lives of leaders who attempt to do anything for God.
"When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews."(Neh 4:1)
As leaders, we must bear in mind that whenever we attempt to do the will of God in building the church we will face great opposition which can come in several ways including unfounded criticisms and even mockery.
This is why Christian leaders are always admonished to be strong.
Notice how many times God told Joshua to be strong when he took over from Moses.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”(Josh 1:9)
Paul also told Timothy, a young Christian leader to be strong.
"You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus"(2 Tim 2:1)
The same message goes to you today: be strong!
The next time you face opposition don't be discouraged, instead, be reminded of the fact that it takes strength to be a Christian leader.
God bless you!
