THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of God to salvation to everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also to the Gentile. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith’…” Romans 1:16-17.

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, what is it? Apostle Paul said to the Corinthian church in his first epistle to them, “And brethren, when I came to you, I did not come in excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him being crucified”. The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is the POWER that brings a man to the Goodness of God.

Apostle Paul said to the Corinthians, “Moreover brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures…” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. This is the Gospel that Paul received, that Jesus bore our sins, took our very nature and died. He was buried and on the third day rose for our justification. He made HIM who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might be the righteousness of God in Him. “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness…” 1 Peter 2:24.

This is the Gospel that we preach, that ‘to Him all the prophets witness that, through His name whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins’. This is the Gospel that if a man will believe, He will give him the liberty from his captivity. This is the GOSPEL that brings healing to the brokenhearted, makes rich the poor, brings liberation to the oppressed and recovery of sight to the blind. Jesus is the Gospel. He is the Good news, the glad tiding. Oh what a joy!!! The Gospel; Jesus Christ is God’s complete blessing to man. For God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. This is the Gospel that if a man will believe he will be justified of all things. The Gospel of grace: Jesus, the disciple John makes us understand, is full of Grace and truth. The Gospel of eternal life: As the Father has life in Himself so has He given to the Son to have life in Himself. Jesus is the embodiment of life,… ‘ that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life’. ‘In Him was life and the life was the light of men’.

Jesus is the truth (the word of God), the way and the life. He said, “Most assuredly I say unto you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life”. He is the bread of life. He didn’t say he who believes in me will have eternal life, but He said has eternal life. That is, the moment you believe, eternal life, the God life, is imparted into your spirit. This is reality; truth. You are not going to have it, but you’ve got it in your spirit.
The Gospel of light: Jesus said, I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. The darkness that is in this world is because the devil is the prince of this age, because he gain the Adamic power and thus became the ruler. But Jesus came to take that power back to us. He died and went to hell and the bible makes us understand that Jesus ripped him off that power. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it…”  Colossians 2:15. Thus “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love”…Colossians 1:13. HALLELUYAH!

Understanding of Colossian 1:13 should liberate you from bondage. It should change your mentality and the way you see things from the spirit realm. The devil and his advocates have no power over you unless you say so. The knowledge of who you are in Christ Jesus will make you live a glorious life everyday of your life as a Christian. God said for lack of knowledge my people perish. You see the reason why it is necessary for us to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our LORD Jesus.

The Gospel of righteousness: therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets. This is THE GOSPEL that we behold and are transformed, into that same glory. Halleluyah, what a life to be born again.
